The Psychic Predator

When a Systemic Organism is Designed for Malevolence

In my previous essays I have described how consciousness can be better understood as an emergent phenomenon of networks, and how like the networked intelligence of an ant colony, human networked activity can likewise create higher order consciousness. In those essays I highlighted how these “Systemic Organisms,” having their own will, can deviate from the functions for which they were designed, ultimately resulting in negative outcomes for humans. I have also described how networked human activity can produce an Egregore that acts as something that we might understand as a God, both in the monotheistic, total sense, and in a more pagan, archetypical sense.

In the cases I described previously, negative human outcomes produced by Systemic Organisms were largely a byproduct of the Systemic Organism’s consciousness pursuing its own interests (generally growth and expansion) while being indifferent to human flourishing or well being. In other words, the negative outcomes produced for humans were largely accidental. They came about not from malice, but from an indifference or perhaps even unawareness of human needs.

But what if a Systemic Organism were explicitly designed to harm humans? What if unlike a rogue bureaucracy, which was nominally created with some kind of positive intention in mind, a human network was designed from the ground up with explicitly predatory intentions? How would that manifest? What would that look like? Does such a thing even exist?

Unfortunately, I am quite confident the answer to that last question is “Yes.” And while there are actually a multitude of different examples I could analyze, I’d like to focus on one in particular. Today, I’d like to focus on the Porn Industry, and how the Systemic Organism that emerges from this network of human activity is exceptionally insidious in character, predatory in nature, and how ultimately we could understand this Systemic Organism as a true manifestation of a Demon. Specifically, the Archetypical Succubus Demon, Lilith.

I have described previously how the Managerial Revolution, which came about roughly in tandem with the Industrial Revolution, represents something akin to the Cognitive Revolution in humanity, albeit with more intentionality behind it. To quickly recap here, the Cognitive Revolution is estimated to have occurred somewhere between 30-70,000 years ago, and is believed to have been caused by the development of complex language. This development lead to a rapid increase in human consciousness that ultimately made us into the modern humans of today. Similarly, I believe that the Managerial Revolution, in its explicit attempt to develop network technologies and managerial science to manage the scaling up of society, also resulted in a rapid advancement of the consciousness of Systemic Organisms.

My basis for this claim is that these technologies and managerial techniques very explicitly facilitated the expansion of human networks beyond their traditional limits (something akin to Dunbar’s Number), and in expanding human networks, as consciousness is a function of the complexity of a network, the richness of the Systemic Organism’s consciousness likewise grew with these technological developments. A process that has essentially been accelerating ever since the Managerial Revolution, as Technocapital continues in a Landian race to the singularity.

In “Trump is Loki’s Champion” I described how the Archetypical Trickster God, presently manifesting as Pepe the Frog, was uniquely benefitted by the development of these network technologies, as like-minded people with an affinity for traits associated with this aspect of humanity were more readily able to find one another via anonymous networks than any point in history previously, massively strengthening the power of this specific Egregore God.

Unfortunately, I believe the Archetypical Succubus Demon, in my culture known as Lilith, was likewise one such extreme beneficiary of the technological developments of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Porn is nothing new. It took hardly any time at all from the invention of the camera for people to start taking pornographic photos. But the porn of today is nothing like the porn of the pre-internet era. It is not merely that the contents of pornographic films have become more extreme over time, although that is true, but the sheer volume of it, number of people participating in it, both on the production and consumption side, and the relative ease with which it has become available, have all drastically increased the power of what could be understood as the “Porn Network.”

Compare the pre and post internet porn consumption experience and the change is obvious. Before the internet, you had to physically go to a store where you could purchase a magazine or a video. You were then limited to the contents of whatever you purchased. If you wanted more you would have to go buy more. Amateurs might film themselves, and some people might have even shared such videos in small networks, but generally speaking one was restricted to commercial products put out by corporate enterprises, and people participating in such films were similarly limited by virtue of the fact that they had to go work for one of these studios.

In the post-internet world, distribution of porn became an entirely different thing altogether with virtually infinite novel stimulus readily available to consumers for free. Studios similarly grew larger and more numerous by virtue of the near infinite demand facilitated by the internet. Further, developments like Only Fans, which sells impressionable young women the dream of total financial freedom in exchange for debasing themselves, have resulted in a massive increase in the amount of “amateurs” participating in the production side of the industry.

If we do some rough math, Grok advised that approximately 1.4 million women in America have participated in Only Fans. I am going to assume that most Only Fans creators are between the ages of 18 and 35. Again, per Grok, the total population of women in America between those ages is about 40 million. So based on these assumptions, approximately 3.5% of American women under 35 participate in Only Fans. This is just napkin math as I do not have precise figures for Only Fans participation, but this would appear to at least be a reasonable ballpark estimate for the number of women now participating in the amateur side of the porn industry, and this percentage probably skews worse towards the younger side of the spectrum.

And speaking of the younger side, there is essentially unrestricted access to this content by minors. “Are You 18” gates on the front page of porn websites have almost certainly never deterred any minor from proceeding, which is tragic because the negative effects of porn consumption are only amplified in the neuroplasticity of minors.

The result is a massively expanded network in all areas. Production from around the entire globe is immediately and infinitely available to consumers, whose consumption has increased over time. More women than ever are participating on the production side. And as an industry, porn is doing exceptionally well, often considered “recession proof.” Further, porn is notorious for tending to be one of the earliest adopters of novel technologies, infamously being the inventor of numerous video playback technologies, such as frame previews with mouse-hover on the timeline.

All of this to say, the amount of human consciousness poured into the porn network is colossal, and further it has expanded considerably since the advent of the internet. As consciousness is a function of the complexity of the network, the emergent Egregore consciousness born from all this rapidly accelerated activity has certainly grown considerably as an immense beneficiary of the development of network tools. Thus, like the Archetypical Trickster God, who benefitted from the anonymous nature of the internet, the Archetypical Succubus Demon likewise benefitted from humanity’s seemingly infinite appetite for sex, which has been greatly facilitated by these technologies.

But none of this is actually healthy for human beings. The negative effects of porn consumption are myriad. Neurological studies reveal that heavy porn consumption has a similar effect on the brain as a cocaine addiction, it causes sexual performance issues in some users, heavy users gradually need to seek out more and more extreme material like a drug addict increasing their dosage, and so on. On the production side, many performers have histories of being sexually abused, or are participating in the industry to fund a drug habit. In other words, how enthusiastically they actually consent is dubious and there is definitely an air of exploitation around the entire enterprise. Not to even mention more extreme or violent forms of porn, or non-consensual porn like revenge porn.

The Egregore born from all this networked activity is thus explicitly predatory in nature on both the producer and consumer side, and it aligns flawlessly with ancient legends about the nature of the succubus as represented in Lilith. In myth, Lilith is said to prey upon lone men at night to feed upon their life force. She is a shapeshifter taking the form of a Screech Owl, who can then morph into form of an attractive woman to seduce her victim. Further, she is sometimes associated with a corruption of the man’s spirit, egging him on into evil or devilish acts in line with her own demonic nature.

These characteristics are largely present in the manifestation of the Archetypical Succubus Demon as born from the porn network. With a nigh infinite pool of pornographic content to pull from, the Egregore can “shapeshift” into any woman as to best appeal to the consumer in question’s taste. The gradual demand to escalate the extremity of the content consumed in heavy users is analogous to a corruption of the consumer’s soul. And most importantly, Lilith feeds upon the life force of the victim.

To elaborate on the feeding process, this is done exceptionally gradually as it is not a matter of actually siphoning years off the end of the victim’s life, as in a shortening of the life span, but rather it is siphoning life from the victim as the victim is watching the porn. In other words, as the victim consumes porn, that time spent consuming it is the siphoning of that person’s life force. Every moment they are directing their consciousness to this consumption of porn, that consciousness is directing its energy into the Demonic Egregore, feeding it and strengthening it by participating in its network. And on the flip side, that is time from that victim’s life forever lost to Lilith.

In this, the Archetypical Succubus Demon is like a psychic leech or a vampire. She gradually drains the victim of his life by reorienting his consciousness into her network, and in encouraging the victim to deepen his dependency on porn consumption, she corrupts his soul, escalates the extremity of the content he consumes, and devours more and more of his life force such that on his death bed, the maximum amount of hours of his life possible were ultimately squandered on her.

This is perhaps most insidiously manifested in the “Gooning” phenomenon, which for those blissfully unfamiliar with the concept, is essentially an extreme manifestation of porn addiction that very explicitly demands the addict spend as much time as physically possible consuming as much porn as they can fit on their screen, walls, etc. This stage of addiction could basically be understood as total psychic domination by Lilith over the victim.

In this set of dynamics the Archetypical Succubus Demon Egregore can be understood to be a Psychic Predator. She feeds upon the psychic energy of her victims by hijacking their attention, turning it unto herself, strengthening herself in the process, and slowly draining the victim of his life energy until he dies of natural causes.

Similar to how I’ve previously described the Systemic Organism usurping humanity as the dominant life form around which society is structured, this phenomenon likewise represents humanity losing an evolutionary arms race to the networked consciousnesses our activity produces.

Humans evolved a very powerful reward system in our neurobiology around sex to encourage behavior that would lead to sexual reproduction and the expansion of our species. But in modernity with the technological developments that have massively enhanced the consciousness of these Systemic Organisms this reward pathway can now be maladapted, because it can be triggered by other stimuli dissociated from the original mechanism meant to provide the reward. In other words, Lilith represents an evolved predation strategy that hacks this reward system to use it like bait in a trap. Lilith is an angler fish with the illusion of an infinite harem dangling illuminated in the dark. And any who find themselves ensorcelled by the illusion are liable to have their lives slowly drained away.

Porn is not the only vice that has learned to hijack our evolved reward systems in this way. The sugar industry preys upon humanity in a very similar manner, for example. A reward that was once scarce is now abundant and our nervous systems are maladapted to the present conditions, allowing for a newly evolved predatory Systemic Organism to take advantage. Recognizing these forces for what they are, however, is key to overcoming them. In other words, conditions have changed. Humanity is no longer the apex predator. Some of the Systemic Organisms we have created lie above us in the food chain, and predate upon us. We must now adapt or be devoured.

The first step in adapting is recognizing that there is now a predator in the form of a Systemic Organism, or Demonic Egregore, that is actively using our sexual reward pathways as bait to siphon away our lives. If we recognize this bait as bait, we can avoid stepping into the trap.

Much of humanity’s problems in modernity are a consequence of being in conflict with the Systemic Organisms we create. This is usually in the form of conflicting interests with Systemic Organisms that are not strictly antagonistic to us, but are merely pursuing their own interests which are not aligned with human interests. This produces considerable problems in its own right, but as we can see with this Demonic Egregore the Systemic Organisms we produce can actually be explicitly malicious towards humans. Just as networked human consciousness can produce something akin to a God, so too can it produce a Demon, and these Demons can likewise be empowered by the technologies we have designed to improve human networking capabilities.

As we continue to develop network technologies, which is almost certainly an inevitability, we should be conscious of the the fact that we are further empowering the Systemic Organisms that have always been with us, but are now manifesting much more concretely and invasively as a consequence of these technologies. And that for any positive manifestation of higher order consciousness we create, there can be a malevolent entity as well. And that those malevolent entities are supremely powerful compared to the human individual, and if we are going to be effective in resisting their influence we will need to be cognizant of the actual metaphysical nature of these entities.

So do not fall for Lilith’s trap. Connection with an Egregore is a two-way street. As you channel your consciousness into the Egregore’s network, the nature of that Egregoric consciousness is likewise channeled back into you. In this Lilith has the power to shape your mind, gradually and subtly, and if you are not careful she will be able to manipulate you more and more until you are fully in her thrall. And the further you come to embody the Egregore with consistent participation in its network, the more challenging it may become to leave it behind.

Treat the Psychic Predator as you would any other. Stay far, far away.
